Writing the two short stories featured in this anthology was a journey of discovery for me. I discovered a new depth and level of writing creating and telling the stories of 2 fictional yet incredible women. I like to think I have a little of each of them within me.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I answered the call to do more with the writer’s gift I have been so gracioulsly blessed with. I could not have been more delighted when my work was accepted to be featured within this uplifting anthology.

Cape Sounds (Anthology)
In 2019 I made a decision to do more of what I loved and jumped at the opportunity to sign up for an Intro to Writing course offered by Gavin Joachims Publishing. The programme took away the panic, inertia and fear of the writing and publishing process and we were rewarded in the end with a beautiful, professionally composed anthology. Holding the book in my hands featuring my work was a feeling difficult to describe. It was more than a writing course – it was a journey that changed my life. I reconnected with a long-held dream, finding my writer’s voice once again and building my confidence and belief.
South Africa has beautiful stories to share. Cape Sounds is one such beautiful local tell. It is about the lives and lived experiences of 14 first time and seasoned authors. They are ordinary people who discovered the love for writing. Gavin Joachims Publishing is honoured that we provided a space for them and others, to publish their stories and document their histories.
